Adventure Sports Events Conference (ASEC)

Shane Only, from Ourea Events who helped write the Purple Guide chapter on Adventure Sports, is organising an Adventure Sports Events Conference with James Thurlow (Open Adventure / Open Tracking) who was one the contributors to the chapter.   You might like to share this with your members?

The conference is associated with the Kendal Mountain Festival and will take place on Friday 19th of November (in Kendal).

The spirit of the conference is to celebrate good practice by event organisers and make sure knowledge and experience is shared within the industry to improve the overall quality and safety of all Adventure sport events. Speakers include:

• Andy Towne - Chair of the Board of Directors for Montane
• Lucy Scrase - Operations Director for Ourea Events
• Richard Warren - Chair of the Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association
• Chris Mills - Owner of racedirector
• Andrew Slattery - Former Assistant Chief Constable for Cumbria Police
• Sophia Reed - Mutual Manager for Activities Industry Mutual
