Together with other members of the Tourism Alliance, the BVEP is responding to the request by DCMS to carry out a business survey. It is understood that the introduction of Plan B measures and the changes to international travel rules, which have been brought in to manage the rise in numbers of people infected with the Omicron variant, is already impacting on consumer confidence, visitor numbers and bookings. DCMS is seeking to build data in order to better understand and demonstrate the issues that businesses are facing across the sector, and variations between sub-sectors, and of overall resilience and commercial outlook, given the ongoing impact of the Covid pandemic.
In order to respond to the DCMS request for information, a survey has been compiled (see link to the survey here) and all stakeholders are invited to please respond as soon as possible or no later than 10th January. Please do distribute the survey to your members. This will form part of a robust evidence base which can then be used to design and make the case for policy solutions and interventions across Government to mitigate the financial pressures being experienced.
It is appreciated this is a busy time, but we hope that you can help by responding and distributing the survey in the timescale indicated above. DCMS continues to be incredibly grateful for your support in leading and guiding your sectors through this period. If you have any questions on this, please email Kurt Janson at
